Maradona to coach Iran

Rumors have swirled in recent months of Maradona, who is planning to coach Iran national team.

Argentina was torn apart by Germany, the first good side they faced in World Cup. Maradona was fired a few weeks later. Since then he has been linked with numerous coaching job or has himself shown interest in taking up the role with some national teams or club side

In recent ceremony to honor Iran’s medal winners at the Asian games, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad confirmed plans to host a visit by Maradona and nodded when asked if the football great was coming to coach the national team. He did not make it clear when Maradona planned to visit Iran. I don’t know how much we can say from just a nod.

Maradona in last few weeks has been linked to a number of coaching jobs. While he was in China it was speculated that he could either be named as China coach or the manager of Chinese club side. Days ago, Maradona was lobbying hard for the top job at Boca Juniors, the Buenos Aires club of his youth.

He was the biggest star in South Africa. His constant digs at the world’s great powers make him a huge draw in places where people feel powerless. He also can’t stop himself from saying incredibly stupid things, which makes him human heroin for journalists.

He is known for doing unusual stuff like upsetting people and burning bridges. Last week he was flitting around Madrid in the Classico match. When Real was thumped 5-0, the team’s executive complained against Maradona, said he was a distraction. He has been uninvited for future matches. This guy’s been threatening to destroy Western world for years now.

But Maradona as Iran coach would surely give the upcoming 2011 AFC Asian Cup in January in Qatar an additional flavour. It would be a great coup for Iranian Football if Diego Maradona decides to coach the national team as it will raise the profile of the game in the country

FITNESS FOR FASHION

When everybody in todays world is talking about fashion it becomes utmost important to get that perfect body to flaunt the latest fashion trend. The fitness bug is catching everyone these days all over the world. With people spending a considerable amount of their income to stay fit, a lot of gyms are coming up seeing the potential in the market.

While everyone can dream of getting that perfect body what counts the most is how to stay motivated. Alot of fitness trainers are now coming up with new kind of training videos for people who don’t have the time and luxury to go to the gym. P90X and Insanity are an example of such programs. These Dvd’s can be purchased online with an option of installments and they include the required equipments and nutrition guide as well.

When every major brand these days is hiring the best models in the business to flaunt there clothes and accessories, what they are selling is a dream for the people who want to be like their idols.This in turn is leading them to join gyms. As a result of which it wont be incorrect to say that Fashion And Fitness goes hand in hand.

In my opinion, if you wanna look good in an evening dress, you better make that body to carry it. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying only skinny girls look good in dress. I am not promoting size 0 here. All I am saying is a little bit of jogging or walking everyday will keep you fit. For me personally I hate keeping routine for exercise, I can never follow it. So whenever I get time, I go for a walk. Although I have stop doing it now, because of weather. Winter is like holiday season, you feel lazy and lethargic.

The holidays are a great time to get together with family, friends, and good food. Yet, for many people, they view it as a time to pack on pounds before making their New Year’s resolutions to lose weight and get into shape. There is no reason you cannot work in exercise during your holiday break. Decide on some workout routine you can incorporate, whether indoors or outdoors. Exercise before everyone wakes up so that the rest of the day is free to spend with your family.

This is what I have planned to do at home. So lets see whether I can achieve it or not. The sooner you start, the less likely you will give up on your fitness goals after the start of the new year.

FIFA World Cup: 2018 in Russia, 2022 in Qatar

This is unbelievable!!

The world football governing body FIFA announced the host for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup’s, and for many it came as a big surprise. Russia will host 2018 FIFA World Cup and Qatar will host 2022 World Cup. Global public thought that England or Spain will get 2018 and USA in 2022. There was shock and cries of foul play in the aftermath of FIFA’s dual World Cup announcement.

The FIFA president Sepp Blatter also made a point of praising those who missed out. He said: “I have to say thanks to to the Executive Committee of FIFA because for 2018 and 2022 we go to new lands, because the FIFA World Cup has never been in eastern Europe or the Middle East. So, I’m a happy president when we speak of the development of football.

“But I have to give big compliments to all the bidders for the big job they have done and the messages they have delivered. All have delivered the message that football is more than just a game. Football is not only about winning; it is also a school of life where you must learn to lose, and that is not easy.”

I think, there is no harm in trying new countries for World Cup. When I was reading through this article to know who got it. I came to know that there was a controversy in bidding process. Two members of FIFA executive committee were suspended from their voting rights as there were allegations that they would accept money in exchange of votes. The voting process involved only 22 of the 24 Executive Committee members. This decision was not about Football, it was about power ,money and expansion of football in global market.

Out of 22 votes, only 12 votes are needed for an absolute majority. There were 2 voting rounds 2018 World Cup, and 4 rounds for 2022 World Cup. Look at this voting rounds, I was amazed to see, how Russia and Qatar have swept all the votes in their favor:

2018 FIFA World Cup™

Round 1: England 2 votes, Netherlands/Belgium 4 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 9 votes (as no absolute majority was reached, the candidate with least amount of votes, England, was eliminated)

Round 2: Netherlands/Belgium 2 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 13 votes (Russia obtained an absolute majority)

2022 FIFA World Cup™

Round 1: Australia 1 vote, Japan 3 votes, Korea Republic 4 votes, Qatar 11 votes, USA 3 votes (Australia eliminated)

Round 2: Japan 2 votes, Korea Republic 5 votes, Qatar 10 votes and USA 5 votes (Japan eliminated)

Round 3: Korea Republic 5 votes, Qatar 11 votes, USA 6 votes (Korea Republic eliminated)

Round 4: Qatar 14 votes and USA 8 votes (Qatar obtained an absolute majority)

FIFA Ballon d’Or

I think this year they should change the name FIFA Ballon d’Or to Barca Ballon d’Or. The final three players who are in the running to win the FIFA Ballon D’Or for their performances in 2010 are Barcelona trio Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi. This was announced today at a press conference held at the headquarters of the sports daily L’Equipe in Paris. I am super excited for this event. Earlier FIFA had their own world payer of the year award and Ballon d’Or award was given by French magazine. Now these two have been merged into one and first ever FIFA Ballon d’Or awards will be handed out on January 10, 2011 at the Kongresshaus in Zurich.

Last year’s Ballon D’Or was won by Messi, while Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo finished second. Xavi had to settle for third spot last term. This year, Spain and Germany’s national teams dominate the player list for 2010. World and European champions Spain are well represented on the shortlist with seven players among the 23 nominees for the award.

While you can’t argue with most of the list, the one exception has to be Asamoah Gyan. My thinking is that FIFA took pity on very good player who will likely forever be remembered as the guy whose awful penalty miss allowed Uruguay to defeat Ghana in the World Cup quarterfinals, effectively destroying the African continent’s dreams of raising the trophy in the homeland.

Well I am satisfied with top three players and I don’t feel the need to go through the list. Messi is the reigning Ballon d’Or winner and Fifa World Player of the Year. But the awards have merged so the best player in the world will now be recognised by a single accolade. The final decision will be made by the captains and head coaches of the national teams as well as by international media representatives selected by France Football.
