With two decades as a professional broadcast journalist, Claire Dean has a wealth of experience in the Scottish media. She began her career in 1989 as an assistant producer for the current affairs department at Radio Clyde, and then joined the busy newsroom as a reporter. In 1992 she moved to Scottish Television as a production journalist, and was quickly made a reporter on Scotland Today where she was a familiar face for thirteen years. In 2006 Claire Dean Media was born, offering a range of services from corporate video production to media training for clients in the statutory, commercial and voluntary sectors. After several years of experience as a visiting lecturer in journalism at both Napier and Glasgow Caledonian universities, in August 2008 Claire took up a full time post as Lecturer in Broadcast and Online Journalism at Glasgow Caledonian. She is a member of the team responsible for launching Caledonian’s new MA in Multimedia Journalism.
