Not even a week has passed since the riots in Kelvingrove Park and yet another party is said to be kicking off this weekend. The celebration theme this time? Osama Bin Laden’s death.
Revellers are being warned against attending yet another unofficial street party in the West End park which, once again, been organized on Facebook.
Glasgow City Council condemns the plans and is warning people not to attend the “dangerous” event.
Over 10,000 people are “attending” the event according to social networking site Facebook.
One of the comments on the page said: “Osama Bin Laden’s finally dead, another street party is in order I think!”
Another said: “Bin ladens dead, yu know wat tht means … street party in kelingrove park!! C’mon guys lets make this happen!!
A spokeswoman for Glasgow City Council said about the event: “Our advice is exactly the same as last time: it is not safe to have unplanned and unauthorised large-scale gatherings, as demonstrated by Friday’s unfortunate events.”
Glasgow City Council still have to decide how the £40,000’s worth of damage from last week’s party will be paid for.
