OH MY GOD!!!!! I’ve never been in love like this before. Ever since Dame Britney of Spears pranced about in them in the If You Seek Amy (snigger) video I have been in love!
These Christian Louboutain Dillian (they were practically made for me one letter out!) shoes are the love of my life right now and if I had a spare £1000 I would buy them tomorrow. Yes, they would look slightly out of place among my office, new look and barratts numbers and I could probably buy 50 pairs of regular shoes instead but they are what my little heart desires.
Wonder if I could get away without paying my uni fees at all and buy these babies instead?!?!

In 2007 a deal was struck between the UK’s most infamous fashion model and the UK’s most iconic fashion store.
On Thursday the launch of Kate Moss’ ninth collection for High Street giant Topshop brewed up a storm in stores across the UK.
So far, Kate Moss for Topshop has netted in just over £40 million in sales for the brand since its launch two years ago. As the Kate Moss brand always goes down a storm with shoppers this years Spring/Summer range has expanded and evolved showing the stores faith in the models designing abilities.
“The first season was pieces that I loved which had been hanging in my wardrobe that I then tweaked and improved. It was great, but now I can’t wear any of it because, oh my God, all my favourite dresses have a Topshop label in them”
Although she says the line still revolves around special pieces rather than wardrobe staples, she maintains there has been a shift in her approach. “Now when I come into the office I’ll talk about things that I really want. It’s about what I think I am going to wear next season.”
Moss has always been an advocate of High Street fashion with her designer wardrobe supplemented with many items from Zara, H&M and, of course, Topshop.
Over the years Moss has been approached by many other stores and designers to help create and design ranges. But it wasn’t until Phillip Green, the owner of Arcadia Group, which owns Topshop, approached Kate that she felt comfortable enough to finally agree to ‘design’.
“I met Philip and I liked him. We got on really well, I’ve worked with loads of designers. I always felt uncomfortable, a bit like they saw me as this little model, and he [Green] is the first businessman who didn’t.
“He talked to me straight and I talked to him straight. We laugh at each other but if something needs to get done, we get it done.”
Signing Moss must have been a no-brainer for Green. Everything she wears is watched and discussed by hundreds of thousands of girls – and fashion magazines – across the country.
Not only do the clothes she wears inspire trends (high-waisted denims, pirate boots, waistcoats, gladiator sandals, hotpants, Hunter wellies, to name but a few), she is also always the first to embrace a way of wearing clothes or champion a particular designer (she was the first to pair ballet flats with skinny jeans, and she wore Balenciaga long before people were talking about it).
The collection as always channels classic Kate, with folk inspired pieces reminiscent of the 1970’s and a heavy focus on suede inspired by the rock ‘n’ roll elements of Kate’s own wardrobe.
Underwear also makes its debut in this collection showing that faith in ‘Brand Moss’ is still going strong. The prices range from a purse friendly £20 for a top, to a bank busting £280 for the ‘meadow liberty print maxi dress’. So there really is something for the budget of every wannabe Moss out there.
My dress cost me £54…bargain!

This Week I learned…
…that I have loads of trips to London next year, what a great perk of working for o2.
…that I hate people who buy gig tickets purely to sell them on ebay!
…that I can do shorthand at 50 words per minute.
…that writing a letter to ‘Santa’ is hard when you don’t know what you want!
…that the European Parliament essay was the hardest thing in the world to do.
…that there is a light at the end of the coursework tunnel!
…that I have free tickets to Primal Scream this weekend! Woohoo!
…that trying to motivate people to hand out the magazine ain’t easy in December when it’s freezing.
…that being in uni at the weekend is the most depressing thing in the world.
…that I really, REALLY need to start Christmas shopping!

Well, well, well – Monday 1 December marked a big day for our beloved Saltire Centre, it’s finally buckled to student pressure and opened its doors 24 hours a day, seven days a week (for the next two weeks that is)!
Now, as I have been here at Caley for as long as I can remember I know that this is something which has cropped up time and time again. Each time there’s an election some ex member of the football/basketball/rugby team promises it on his agenda along with a better union and each year it fails to happen (the same can be said about the union)!
And, each time exams and coursework rock up at my door some classmate complains that they were unceremoniously flung out of the library just as they were hitting the elusive “zone”.
But, for all the promises and protests is it something that’s going to be used?
I know many other unis which have 24/7 library access and hurrah to them but as I sit here at 6.47pm on a Tuesday night the 4th floor of good old Salty it looks decidedly empty. God only knows what it’ll be like come 3am! Yes, there will be some people in here but is it worth the cost of keeping the building open for 10 neurotic students hopped up on red bull and pro plus?
As a fully fledged member of student parliament I’ve sat through endless debates on the subject – the for, the against, the who, the where, the what and the why but personally I think it’s going to be another one of those things where people want what they can’t have.
The union is a prime example of that, last year when it was announced that we were to lose our commercial services all hell broke loose, nothing but moaning and whinging. But people didn’t use it in the first place! Was it supposed to just sit there losing money until people finally gave it a shot?!?
The 24/7 Saltire Centre, is a pilot scheme “strictly on a use it or lose it basis” seems to be a phrase I’ve heard a lot over the last 4 weeks and my guess is we’re going to lose it, only so that some other ex football/basketball/rugby team member can put on his manifesto for 09/10 – “I promise 24/7 library access!!!”

…that midori madness is once tasted never forgotten.
…that I really hate the European Parliament – mainly due to this horrendous essay.
…that I have a scary amount of uni work to do!

When news reached me at the beginning of the week that they plan to raise the cost of trains I was not impressed to say the least (plus the reason – fuel prices? Is it just me? I thought they were coming down)! It will come as no surprise to most people that I despise all things public transport related.
What I don’t get is why they are raising the already ludicrous price, I mean, I could understand if it was a halfway decent service but its shoddy (and that’s the nicest way I can possibly put it). And don’t get me started on the price – what the hell is it? Some days its £3.20 others its £4.95, why?! I’m sure those conductors are pocketing the pennies on the side!
Just this week I’ve already had countless horrific experiences hoisted on me by first scotrail. First of all on Monday as I sat on the 1619 train, when I was still sitting there at 1636 I smelt a rat then I was told there was ’signalling issues’ at Cardonald and I was given the terrific choice of a sweaty, smelly bus or a sweaty, smelly train to Paisley Canal St. Yes, the train was going into the region of Paisley but it takes 35 minutes!!!
Then on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the trains were magically delayed, which just really annoys me as its November, it’s pretty much still the dead of night when I’m there and its FREEZING – standing about like a plamf on a platform for an extra 10 minutes does not make me happy. I mean, I don’t mind waiting for something good but waiting to be cramped on a train with no air and no seats, is not fun.
And finally, on my way home today I casually strolled to my train at platform 11 sat down, started perusing my shorthand and then was casually informed (by some guy in a luminous vest banging on the window) that the train was no longer running and I had to head for platform 12 as well. After the experience on Monday this did not fill me with joy. So, I dragged myself over to a new train which left the station and sat there…doing nothing, all the way through The Killers, Human, Razorlight, Monster Boots and Kings of Leon, Use Somebody (which would be about 12 minutes, longer than the train should take!!!)
I feel used and abused by SPT each time I hand over money for a zonecard on a Sunday, but it would seem there’s absolutely nothing I can do about it!!! Gutted!

…that I know supposedly know all the shorthand theory!
…that I found my birthday outfit – 22 eeek!!!
…that waiting around doctors surgery’s is not fun!
…that I’m loving sexy curves mascara.
…that trying to launch a website for the magazine is harder than I thought!
…that Primark is a warzone!
…that its a real pain when your ipod reaches capacity…I think it may be time for a new one – “Oh Santa…???”

I love Christmas…any time of year that allows for copious amounts of drinking, presents and singing Mariah Carey at the top of your lungs is a good time of year to me. But, as I strolled down Buchanan Street today and heard ‘Merry Christmas, War is Over’ blasting out of Monsoon I realised I really don’t feel that festive.
When I confronted my Mum with this problem as soon as I got home her response was – “Well it is November!”
And she’s right, why are we celebrating Christmas in November??? The Christmas lights in Paisley have even went on, Paisley – we’re famous for not putting the lights on until around about the 18th of December! Why have we all of a sudden went Christmas crazy?
I understand fail to prepare means prepare to fail, but do we need this much time? People are already going demented in the streets of Glasgow clambering over people for wii’s! Get a grip people! I often worry about the sanity of the general public – working in a customer service role will do that to you – but things seem to be getting worse!
I went to buy a card yesterday and the whole main floor of Clinton’s was dedicated to Christmas, I’m used to this at my birthday – God forbid anyone have a birthday in December, eh? – but this is November!!!
So I’m abstaining from Christmas until December 1st! No Mariah, no Miracle on 34th Street, No Love Actually and no planning presents for another 2 weeks (bar that one I’ve just bought!) I’m not exclaiming ‘bah humbug!’ I can’t wait for Christmas, but at a reasonable time…please!

This week I have learned…
…that being a magazine editor isn’t as easy as I thought, especially when your features editor goes awol.
…that even though it’s going into week 9, I still struggle with starting at 9am!!!
…more shorthand – that’s a given!
…that there is no such thing as a quiet night in Paisley.
…that Britney Spears’ Womanizer was the “TUNE” moment of Monday night!
…that free wine is the way to go! Thanks BBC!
…that Girls Aloud is going to be…something kinda ooh!
…that the assault on Aberdeen is going to be immense, 4 hours on a megabus won’t!
…that I’m slowly beginning to resent this radio project, mainly due to the fact the radio kit weighs more than me and getting people to speak to me is not easy!!!
…that no matter how long you avoid it, it’s inevitable you’ll give in – McDonalds is the king of junk food!!!
