Me & My Blog
How'd you keep it so shiny?
That is a terrible photo, isn’t it? It’s also me, by the way, but I’m much better looking in person and I have awesome hair. My 2 year old says so and he has no concept of what lying is, so it must be true. My reasons for using that particular pic will become clear.
But who is that shiny tongued handsome devil? I’m what’s known as a mature student – pushing 30, depending on who you ask – but, given how often I’m told to grow up, I think that must be a mistake. The same goes for my family situation. I have 2 kids. A boy and a girl, which apparently is a Gentleman’s Family - again, there must be some mistake.
I’m currently a post-grad student at Caledonian university, studying Multimedia Journalism and you, you lucky thing, have found my course blog in which I plan to talk mince and nonsense about the state of the Digital Art world.
“What’s digital art?” you may ask (well, the tutor did) and I’ll get to that – but right now, let’s talk a bit more about me.
I’m quite a political chap but have chosen not to talk about that here as I have other active projects in that area already. Digital Art is a hobby of mine and one which I seldom get a chance to indulge.
I guess I’m hoping that by blogging about it as a matter of course it’ll force me to become more active in the various communities whilst not feel guilty about Photoshopping instead of doing lines of shorthand.
I’ll do some critiques and the odd bit of community news, maybe even a wee interview here and there with some well known names. Who knows? Perhaps it’ll even enlighten and inspire some of you to give it a shot too.
So, I said I’d answer the question “What is Digital Art?” and so I shall…but you’ll have to get over to post number 1 to read it.
